I am trying to trace my wife's Lithuanian ancestors. I gather some of them may have lived in or near Vilkaviskis.
I have various names to follow-up: SPAKOUSKAS, SPAKAUSKAS, SPEAKAUSKAS, YURKSA, YESITIS, USITIS (these may well be English spellings and not "true" Lithuanian names).
Some members of the family left Lithuania around 1910-1913 and settled in the UK, USA and Canada.
I am particularly keen to trace any family members who stayed behind, in Lithuania.
How do I go about this?
Any help would be appreciated.
