On 4 June 2002 the Seimas adopted Law No IX-926 on

      Approval, Enforcement and Implementation of Labour Code.

      The new Labour Code will come into effect as of 1 January

      2003. A more detailed review of the Labour Code is attached

      to this law update.

      On 4 June 2002 the Government by Resolution No 817

      Changed the Rules of Registration of Employment

      Agreements. The register of the employment agreements

      should indicate the date when the second copy of employment

      agreement was handed over to the employee and this entry of

      the register should be signed by the employee.
