On 5 December 2002 the Seimas adopted Law No IX-1221 on Amending and Supplementing Articles 8, 24, 52 and 57 of the Law on Telecommunications Amended by Article 1 of the Law on Amendment of the Law on Telecommunications. The Law provides that telecommunication operators and providers of telecommunication services must notify the State Data Inspection in the procedure prescribed by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania about the nature of all recorded and protected telecommunication flow data related to the subscriber of public telecommunication services and user of actual telecommunication services.
