Introducing the euro as Lithuanian currency could result in a price jump, because people anticipate that, say analysts.
"These expectations come true in a natural way. They are impossible to fight with macroeconomic means", Gitanas Nauseda, an analyst at Vilniaus Bankas, told reporters on Tuesday. He argued that, with the population expecting prices to surge and accordingly buying quantities of products, the increase in prices could indeed ensue.
