On 10 November 2009 the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania passed a resolution upon the termination of powers of the Seimas Ombudsman Mrs. Zita Zamžickienė. She held the office of the Seimas Ombudsman for two terms in succession. The second term of the Seimas Ombudsman expired on 17 October 2009.
The Chairman of the Parliament Mrs. Irena Degutienė and the Members of the Parliament expressed their sincere thanks to the Seimas Ombudsman for her long-term, conscientious and principled work when investigating citizens' complaints and her aim to help people to solve often complicated and tricky legal issues.
"I am happy that when solving peoples' problems I had an opportunity to perform meaningful work. Not everyone is so lucky, expressed her thanks Mrs. Zita Zamžickienė.
Mrs. Zita Zamžickienė has held the office of the Seimas Ombudsman since 2000. According to division of the Seimas Ombudsmen to respective fields of work, Mrs. Zita Zamžickienė investigated activities of officers of county governor administrations and municipal institutions and agencies and citizens' complaints about abuse of office by, bureaucracy of officers or other violations of human rights and freedoms in the sphere of public administration.
